Microblading
What is Microblading?
Microblading is a Semi-Permanent cosmetic tattoo. This means it does not last forever. With a small sterile blade and a hand piece, tiny hair-like strokes are free-handed/ created to mimic the look of real hair.
How long does it last?
Microblading lasts about 1-2 years depending on your skin type and how you care for your brows. As time passes, the hair strokes tend to fade. We recommend coming in for touch ups to ensure your brows are perfect.
What can I expect at my appointment?
Upon your arrival to your appointment you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire to ensure that you are a candidate for the procedure and have a good understanding of how to care for your brows. A thorough consultation will be conducted at the time to help us understand what you are looking to achieve. Before your treatment we apply a topical anesthetic to the eyebrow area so that the procedure is pain free. After numbing the area for about 20 minutes we follow with brow mapping and facial measurements to create the perfect outline of your desired brow. This is another important step of the process and typically takes the longest.
After finalizing your shape and pigment colour, we move forward to the fun part, giving you the brows of your dreams! All of our blades are single use; we never reuse the same blades. At our spa, we ensure the safety of our clients and ourselves. Certified in Bloodborne Pathogens, we use hospital grade disinfectants and medical sterilizers.
All clients who leave the clinic will be provided with an explanation of how to care for their eyebrows and what to avoid. An aftercare sheet is provided, as well as a starter size cream we will ask you to apply on your new brows.
Before leaving we will book a follow-up appointment with you within 4-6 weeks to touch up any areas that may fade or lighten.
What to avoid PRE and POST microblading:
PRE Microblading:
· No caffeine for 24 hours
· No alcohol for 48 hours
· No sun bathing or tanning beds for 48 hours
· No Advil for 48 hours
POST Microblading:
· No alcohol for 48 hours
· No showers for 48 hours
· No physical activity for 48 hours
· No saunas, tanning beds for 48 hours
· No sun bathing or swimming for 1 week
· Do not pick or scratch the brow area until healed
What to expect after getting your eyebrows Microbladed:
You will go through a two-week healing process. Immediately after your treatment your eyebrows will start to get darker. After about 24 hours they will be at their darkest point and will look about 4 shades darker. Some clients may feel uneasy at this point because of the drastic change in colour, but do not be concerned as once your eyebrows are healed they will be about 2 shades lighter.
In about 3-5 days your brows will start to lighten and scab. You will be instructed to follow your aftercare sheet and provided with information when you can wet your eyebrows, and when and how to apply your medicated cream.
As your eyebrows continue to heal they will flake, scab, and may feel itchy. Avoid picking, scratching or tugging on the area. As the scabbing does fade, your eyebrows will lighten. Sometimes pigment will fade and lighten depending on your skin type; this is all normal.
At your follow-up appointment any adjustments will be made.
